How do our children travel to your camp from the USA?
We will travel to the USA and meet you at the Airport in either NYC or Boston, we will then accompany your child onto the plane, travel with them the entire journey to Ireland. We also provide the same accompaniment service for the homeward journey too! As parents we have made our camps as easily accessible and family friendly to ensure both Parents and children are fully supported throughout their Generation Ireland camp experience.
Does my child need pocket money in Ireland?
As we are based in a different country, and as Children may want to but some souvenirs and gifts for family etc. we suggest no more than €200 be sent with children to camp. We can arrange to assist the children with minding their money if requested in advance. They will have an opportunity to go shopping on our day trips. We will also be making Irish traditional crafts that they can bring home so this is a mere suggestion, not a necessity.
What happens if my child gets homesick?
We are very experienced in dealing with children travelling away from home, from as young as ten years old. We will give comfort and support, love and kindness with a yummy hot chocolate topped with marshmellows to children as needed. We intend for the children to be too busy to be homesick, but if this occurs we will council and comfort your child and we will contact you via our Camp Mom and keep you updated at all times.
What kind of clothes should my child bring to Ireland? Summer clothes?
We have great variety of weather available to us in Ireland. We are famous for having “ all four seasons in 1 day” We will send you a brochure with all the information you need to prepare for your child’s trip to Ireland, including a full list of clothing required etc.
